Diy Bathroom Makeover on a Budget

When renting a house or apartment, you may ask yourself the question: How can I remodel or decorate spaces without having to break or destroy walls or the property itself? Well, that was what happened to us and in this article we show you how we did it with our rented apartment bathroom, always taking into account that we cannot damage the property.

We start by creating our accent wall, we are going to use wood to give some dimension to it creating a board and batten accent wall, after creating the design we want, we use Spackling to cover all the imperfections in and between the wood, after it dries we proceed to sand it so that the surfaces are completely smooth. Once we have finished with the wood for the wall, we can begin to paint the wall and in our case, we chose to use the “toasted poppy seed” color from Walmart, a dark tone to highlight the wall and give it the modern look that we want to show off.

After finishing our accent wall we proceed to make and mount a shelf in top of our toilette using wood and other shelf pieces from a used Ikea shelf that we bought at a thrift store, we repaint the Ikea parts with black matte color spray paint and cut wooden boards to make the top part of our shelf and then we paint it with stain.

Then we began to work with the details, mounting the black matte T knobs on our vanity doors, filling with caulk where necessary, we also mounted a new matte black faucet so that our vanity looks much better modern look.

The bathroom mirror was quite damaged so we also decided to prepare a frame around it to cover the imperfections and give the bathroom a slightly more rustic touch similar to the shelf.

After finishing the difficult part we start decorating using DIY decor pieces made on DIY Home & Crafts Youtube Channel and some plants and greenery to give life to this space.

Here is the final result of our makeover we really hope you like it. We attached the process on video below so you can see us in action.
